An independent community heritage project

The heritage projectContributor terms

Your contribution, your rights

The permissions you give Aguri Heritage, the rights you keep, and how we review and care for your contribution.

Help build the community’s history while keeping ownership of your work.

Effective 4 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-04

Your work remains yours

You keep copyright in your original contribution and remain free to publish or reuse it elsewhere. Submission does not transfer ownership or automatically place your work under Creative Commons or another public licence.

Permission for this project

When you submit a contribution and accept these terms, you give Aguri Heritage a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission, limited to operating and preserving this bilingual heritage project, to store, reproduce, edit, format, translate and publish the submitted material. This includes its English and Bengali editions and preservation backups. It does not authorise unrelated commercial licensing of your work.

We will respect the contribution’s meaning, identify uncertainty and seek your input on substantive changes where possible. This permission covers only rights you hold or are authorised to grant; clearly identify any third-party material and its existing licence or permission. Rights enquiries are private correspondence and do not grant permission to publish their contents.

What to submit

Submit material you created, are authorised to share, or can lawfully supply for the intended use. Give available sources, dates, permissions and context; distinguish remembered accounts from verified facts. Owning a physical photograph or document does not necessarily mean owning its copyright. Obtain any necessary consent before sharing another person’s private information or images. Do not submit unlawful material or knowingly false claims.

Credit, privacy and editorial review

Tell us the public credit you prefer, or request anonymity. Your contact details are used privately for editorial follow-up and managing your submission; they are not included in public credit. Editors may select, defer or decline material. Submission does not guarantee publication, payment or endorsement.

Corrections and withdrawal

You may request a correction, credit change or withdrawal, identifying the contribution and your connection to it. We will make reasonable efforts to remove withdrawn material from future public display under our control. Limited copies may remain in preservation backups or records needed to manage the request. We cannot recall third-party copies or revoke independently valid licences already granted.

Which terms apply

The submission records the version you accept. Later changes do not expand permission for an earlier contribution without your agreement. Earlier submissions remain subject to their existing permissions. Please read the copyright and reuse policy before reusing other people’s material.
