Manohar Ray was a mathematician and educationist whom Dutta identifies as Manohar Roy of Nasigram. Agra College’s official record lists Dr Manohar Ray as its principal from 1960 to 1970, with doctorates and fellowships in Indian scientific academies.[1][2]

The Royal Society’s archive preserves a referee’s report on his research into the motion of an elliptic cylinder in a fluid, linking his career to mathematical work on fluid motion.[3]

Dutta names the mathematician from Nasigram among Ugra Kshatriya intellectual figures, pp. 313–314. “Ray” follows the college and Royal Society records; Dutta uses “Roy.”[1]
